What we keep, and why
Opportunity is a product of Moonshot Technologies. This page says what we keep about you, why, who else handles it, and how to have it deleted.
What you give us
- Your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google.
- What you tell us about your work: what you do, the work you want, where, and the least you will work for. If you say it out loud, we keep the words and not the recording.
- Your CV and your links. We read a CV and keep what we read as text. We do not keep the file. A LinkedIn or X link is kept as a link.
- What you do with each opportunity, and any note you write on one.
What we keep without asking
- Your sign-ins, with the internet address and the browser each came from, so that you stay signed in and the service is not misused.
- What the payment company tells us about your plan: whether it is on, what was paid, and when. We never see your card.
- One sign-in cookie, and two small notes in your browser that remember where you are in the first steps.
- No advertising. No scripts that follow you across other sites.
Why we keep it
- To find work that fits you and to write your angle.
- To sign you in, to take payment, and to keep the service from being misused.
- We do not sell it, and we do not show it to anyone else.
Who else handles it
A few companies do work for us. Each is given only what its job needs.
- Convex keeps your account and everything on this page, in the United States.
- Cloudflare delivers the pages, and sees the internet address of each request.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Resend sends the sign-in email to your address.
- AssemblyAI turns your speech into words, when you choose to talk. Your browser sends the sound straight to it.
- OpenAI's models read what you told us, your CV and your links, to fill in your answers, to judge which work fits you and to write your angle.
- Dodo Payments takes the payment and is the seller on your receipt. It holds your card details. We do not.
The part of Opportunity that searches for you keeps a second copy of your answers, and of what we read from your CV, on a machine we run.
How long we keep it
- For as long as you have an account.
- Delete your account in Settings and everything on this page is deleted from the app at once. The second copy is deleted the next time the search runs.
- What stays: a note that an account was deleted, and when. Payment records stay with Dodo Payments for as long as the law asks.
- Technical logs hold an account's number and what an action cost, never what you said. They are kept for a few days.
Your choices
- See and change your answers at any time, on the Brief screen.
- Delete your account in Settings.
- Ask for a copy of what we hold, or ask us anything else: hello@opportunity.sh.
Children
Opportunity is for adults who work. It is not for anyone under 18.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we tell you by email before it applies. The date below says when it last changed.
